Preparing to fit our “Heritage Line” double glazed units into one of our bespoke timber frames. This restoration glazing was completed on the Harecastle Tunnel Keepers House in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire in 2019. To view the full case study of the project click here.
Single Glazing And Stained Glass
If you need single glazed glass replacing. Our North Staffordshire glazing co-operative allows us to provide you with some of the UK’s last remaining putty pointer glaziers. When we started back in 1936, everything we did was putty pointed. It’s now becoming a rare skill to find.
Our “Heritage Line” stained glass range also allows us to incorporate your existing stained glass window into a double glazed unit. Giving you the benefits of increased warmth and noise reduction that double glazing provides. While keeping your stained glass window in tact.

On your heritage property, the windows and glass are a key piece of the building’s character. They play an important role in perfecting a view from inside out, and from outside in. One of the architectural features that, together with others, make your home unique. Over time, the glazing may need attention and/or restoration. The windows may have become more draughty, or be over-painted and thereby preventing opening, or simply feel insecure due to fragile frames.
Throughout the 80 years we’ve been established, we’ve gained a wealth of knowledge and experience, especially when it comes to restoration and heritage glazing. We understand the importance of retaining the period appearance of your property when remedial work needs doing, down to the smallest detail.
We have formed a close partnership with a long established joinery firm based in Newcastle Under Lyme that specialises in making bespoke timber frames for our clients.
These are then fitted with our “HeritageLine” double glazed units. Developed over a long period of time through much trial and error. We have spent time to ensure that the glass perfectly matches the original in your home. We have two offerings:
Cylinder glass to suit homes dating from 1700-1860,or hand-drawn glass for homes dating from 1860-1920.
The robust design of the units will also make your home warmer, better insulated and more secure.
The traditional wave effect can be clearly seen in our cylinder glass when fitted.
